How To Obtain Your Wireless Card's MAC AddressIn order to ensure a secure network environment that is open only to current Champion students, faculty and staff, the Champion Network requires users to register their network cards prior to signing on. In order to gain access to the wireless network each user must fill out a form and provide, amongst other information, the MAC address of the wireless network card that will be used to connect to the network. A MAC address is generally a set of 12 hexadecimal digits separated by dashes (ex: 00-00-22-F1-11-22). Most laptop PCMCIA cards have their MAC addresses printed on the back. You can obtain the address by merely reading it off of the back of the card, however, if your wireless network card does not have this information printed on it, or if it's not removable, you will have to obtain this information from your operating system. The procedure for doing this is fairly simple, but varies from system to system.
